Per the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA), "The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management."

The District has received the GFOA's Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting every year since it has started applying for the award, which started with the financial statements for the fiscal year ended 6/30/09.
